Not long to go now...

I cant believe its come around so quickly- thursday the 1st of September is a day away as i write this and i just wanted to say thanks to everyone for the interest in the project! I got a question on the first post that (for some reason) i cant reply to- Alex asked whether we will be trying to get all the photos taken on the Thursday or if people will need to come back on another day.

This is a tricky one to answer- hopefully we will be able to get 100 people turn up, have their photo taken and finish the shoot by the end of the day! But really i dont know for sure, will 100 people turn up? How long will it take to get each photo reference? Will it rain and put people off?.. a lot could go wrong really!

All i can say is that during tomorrow i will make sure i update my twitter feed (and if possible this blog and my facebook page) in order to let people know whats happening as the day goes on!

Again, thanks to all for the support and interest, hopefully i will see some of you tomorrow!

Flyers and tickets arrived!...

Yesterday i received the flyers that will be used to promote the project in Bath and Bristol together with the little tickets that those in the 100 will receive. Lovely printing job by Ripedigital as usual. Now comes the lovely part of trying to get them into shops, cafe's and pretty much anywhere that i can! (if youre in the area and want some to hand out to friends etc just let me know)

All about the 3Cs project...

On the 1st of September 2011, artist Tom Bagshaw will begin a unique project to create a portrait study in one hour, one every day, for one hundred days!
In order to accomplish this task we need your help. Through the use of social networking sites like Twitter and Facebook, along with promotion via art related portals and blogs and also the more common printed flyers and word of mouth, we need to get 100 willing participants to turn up at the Fine Art Print Company in Bath, UK at 12 noon on the 1st of September!

If you would like to in with a chance of having your portrait digitally painted, for free- the first 100 to arrive at FAPC will be asked to give their contact details and sign their understanding of the project then be invited to sit for a couple of quick photographic reference shots. They will then receive a ticket with a unique number relating to their position within the 100. When all the reference is collected and sorted the painting can begin!

This blog will serve as a place to see how things are going, with a collection of finished pieces being displayed together every 20 days or so. It will also be here to keep everyone involved up to date with news and possible developments as time goes on.

Even if you do not live in the South West of England or even in the UK, you can still help by promoting the project on your website with a simple link to this blog and use of the twitter hashtag #3CS, the more people become aware of the project the more likely we will get the required 100 turn up for the photoshoot!
